4.4 how can I sew my own historical style clothing?
From: Trystan L. Bass
If you want historically influenced clothing, you may want to invest in one of the following catalogs of historical patterns -- AlterYears or Amazon Dry Goods. I always have faster service from AlterYears, but there's a lot of overlap in what patterns each one carries. For reviews of those AlterYears/Amazon Dry Goods pattern's check out The Great Pattern Review. This very detailed site tells the good, the bad, and the ugly in historical reproduction patterns, directly from historical costumers who've used them.

The Evolution of Fashion by Margot Hamilton Hill and Peter A. Bucknell is a good source for basic pattern shapes of clothing throughout history. I made my wedding dress based on a pattern in that book.
