Makeup Colors for Blood-Red Hair
From: eloquence
When I had my "roots" dyed blood red (it was actually the first five inches or so), I wore Manic Panic's Vampire eye- shadow, which is RED. Not red, but RED. It looks REALLY cool, and freaks people out. If not, wear lots of greys, blacks, etc.

Face Stockholm makes Eye Dust in some really neat colors. It's a little hard to work with since it's so powdery, but if you're willing to play with it, it's worth it. I have a deep rich cool shade of auburn hair (& once had deep red mahogany chunks) & green eyes & the Eye Dust #8 looks insane!! I've been told I look kind of possessed, but I do get a lot of compliments as well. I think the #8 is kind of like a shimmery reddish plum color. They also have some cool shades of red.Another thing i do is mix mauves with greys. For example, I use Lancome Aubergines (a set of three shades of mauve/plum colors) & put slate gray over it & blend. The Aubergines look pretty normal in the compact, but the middle one goes on kind of like a bruise when it starts to fade into that purple-y color. Looks cool with light eyes -- very dramatic.

I wore a lot of silvers and blacks when my hair was Vampire red type red (which is a bit on the orangey side, at least on me).
Makeup Colors for Orange Hair

Try greys. They'll go with anything, as will black and white (duh)... You could probably get away with orangey reds, too... also browns, but any neutrals are ok. Or else just decide you don't care, and wear whatever you like.

My hair is naturally an orangy colour. The only make up I use is Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara, and sometimes a pale powder (but like I *need* it!) with slut red lipstick.

it's going to depend on the shade of orange... but browns will be okay... black of course... prolly some wine reds will look nifty.

I would try to find coppers, browns, etc. Brown eyeshadow is extremely neutral and won't look too "done" with the hair, but is also flattering to blue eyes.

1. Someone mentioned purple; I'd agree. Try a deep plummy purple lipstick. This would look especially nifty if you did snake-green accents in your eye-makeup. A purple-black lipstick would work, too, with greys and blacks on the eyes.2. Someone mentioned 'slut red' lipstick. Yes, again. Sounds like Urban Decay's Gash would do well here. Keep the eyes in grey or subtle black, though, and don't overdo the pallor, or it'll be Ronald McDonaldland.
3. Perhaps a deep but vivid blue shimmering lipstick...
4. This may sound nasty, but it looks pretty in my mind. Try a deep, rich fuschia or berry color. I'd recommend L'Oreal's Sheer Moon Berry, if they're still making it. Looks very dark in stick form, lightens up a *tad* on application, and is only slightly sheer. And for the eyes, greys, subtle black, smoky blues, or even a bit of green again.
